The Super Bowl was yesterday (congrats to the Chiefs), which is practically a holiday in the US. I’m not really a (American) football fan, or really a fan of any sport other than baseball, but I thought it might be interesting to take a look at some of the attempts at making (American) football games for various Atari systems.
But before starting with the systems, check out this arcade football game from 1978, a “cocktail” table game. It was the 2nd-most popular arcade game in 1978!
It used X’s and O’s for the players with simple black & white graphics.
