Atari + Queen = Magic

One of my favorite bands is Queen so it was amazing when I found an Atari connection. In the latter half of the 80s, at least here in the US, Queen was no longer as popular as they were in the 70s. However, in the UK (and perhaps the rest of Europe) Queen was still huge.

So it should have come as little surprise when I started seeing articles about Queen in UK Atari magazines. With its MIDI support, Atari ST computers were big hits with musicians and Queen was no different.

The first mention I noted was in Atari ST User (February 1989), which had a little blurb about Brian May and his son attending an Atari show.

Later, when reading through my collection of ST Format magazines (which I’ll hopefully be writing about soon), I came across an article called It’s a Kind of Magic in the January 1990 issue.
