I knew folks with the SG-10 printer in the Atari 8-bit world, but didn't get my own home printer until I'd gotten my Amiga in 1987. Ended up with one of the successors in that line - the Star NX-1000 which I used on two Amigas (500 and 600) as well as my first IBM compatible PC. I want to say I used it all the way until 1993 or so when I got an HP DeskJet ink jet printer.
