In the early days of personal/home computing having a floppy disk was a luxury! Computer typically came with nothing but the computer itself. Some could hook up to your TV to save money and some needed a special monitor, but rarely was a way to include storage included.

The original PET did include a cassette for storage. But as we all know, cassettes are terrible for storage!

Over time there were several types of floppy disks: 8 inch, 5 1/4 inch and 3.5 inch. Let’s dig in!
