Released in 1982, Miner 2049er was an incredibly popular game for the Atari 8-bit. Created by Bill Hogue and released by his company Big Five Software, this is synopsis from the back of the cartridge:

You control “Bounty Bob” as he climbs ladders and walks on the framework. Use the special equipment like the transporters, the lift, and the cannot to help Bob claim the mine. Collect the various possessions left by previous explorers, but watch out for mutant organisms that lurk everywhere and try to waste you!

The title "Miner 2049er" are at the top with the publisher's name, "Big Five Software" at the bottom. The cartoon style artwork depicts a bearded miner wearing blue overalls, a red plaid shirt and an oversized hardhat with a mining lamp. He holds a pick axe while traveling into a mine shaft.
