My family knows I’m an Atari enthusiast and retro nerd, so I often get Atari-themed things as gifts, which I really appreciate.
This year I got some wonderfully fun things, including:
An Atari shirt
Some Atari stickers
Atari Super Pocket with 50 built-in Atari games and Data East Game cartridge
Retro Gaming with the Raspberry Pi book
I do love blue although I’m not sure why the Atari logo is in what appears to be the rising sun. I try to wear Atari shirts when writing Goto 10 posts as it keeps me motivated. I’m actually wearing this shirt as I write posts for January.
An upcoming post is already written for the Super Pocket — be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
Although not specifically Atari-related, the Raspberry Pi book looks pretty cool, although I haven’t had a chance to read through it just yet. My Raspberry Pi is an older Raspberry Pi 2 and is not likely to be fast enough to do much retro gaming. I’ve been looking for an excuse to get a newer Pi, though, and I’m sure there will be some Atari emulation involved!
I haven’t decided where those stickers will go just yet!
In addition to all this, I had previously pre-ordered Atari Addict and it arrived right before Christmas. Atari Addict was a limited-run, special Atari issue from the publishers of Pixel Addict.
I think it’s cool how the cover was made to look weathered and old (it’s not).
This magazine is high-quality, 60 pages, full-color and filled with articles about all things Atari, including the 2600, 8-bit computers, ST computers, Jaguar and more. The Goto 10 schedule for January is already full, so look for an article about this in February.
Did you get any cool retro or Atari stuff as gifts? If so, share them in the comments.
I just wonder if the name Jerry White rings a bell to you. Think back to 1979-1985 Atari 800 world.
