In my early days of getting a disk drive for my 800XL, I kept playing around with disk-related things in BASIC. I already wrote about Disected, a disk sector editor I made.

Here’s another thing I tried my hand at: QuikDOS, a command line “DOS” in BASIC.

Since QuikDOS was written in BASIC, which was all I knew at the time, it is rather limited. You actually have to run the program in order to take advantage of it, which meant that you had to load it manually or keep it along aside whatever BASIC program you were working on.

QuikDOS initial screen, program is available as a perk to paid subscribers

Thanks for reading Goto 10. Although Friday posts are free, this is a Monday Premium Paid post. If you like to get twice the posts (and perks such as a disk image containing QuiKDOS), then please consider upgrading to a paid subscription.
